As most of you know already, the new Battle.net finally launched. With this comes the new beta opt-in process where you can choose have your account entered into a random selection for upcoming Blizzard betas including the StarCraft II beta. If you've been waiting eagerly for the SC2 beta you should head to http://us.battle.net/ right now and get an account if you don't already have one.
“We will let you know when beta starts and when invites go out — still some waiting to do unfortunately,” said Karune.

In addition to this comes news of a revamped beta sign up page at www.blizzcon.com/beta and increased hopes of an imminent StarCraft II beta. Here is where gamers can redeem their beta keys for various Blizzard titles including SC2. The old page was WoW themed but this page is for all titles.
UPDATE FROM KARUNE (03/23 8:32 p.m.): If you have a BlizzCon key from 2008, you can now register it at http://blizzcon.com/beta
Please note that the key on the back of the BlizzCon card is NOT a StarCraft II 'key'. When you opt in on the above site, your email will be added to a distribution list for a guaranteed StarCraft II beta key. When time comes, an email containing a StarCraft II beta key will be mailed out to those who registered with their BlizzCon key. At that point, players will be able to enter their StarCraft II beta key at their Battle.net account management page, allowing them the ability to download the StarCraft II beta client.
Karune also mentioned on the battle.net boards that there will be an option within your battle.net account management page to redeem your SC2 beta key from Blizzcon '08 once the beta is officially announced.
