Word leaked today that Blizzard's unannounced MMO currently in development will indeed be based on an entirely new franchise.
Blizzard's WoW community manager Zarhym focused briefly on the new IP in a lengthy post on the Wrath of the Litch King message boards.
“We have nothing to advertise for the new MMO because it's a shell of a game thus far,” said Zarhym. “We've already stated it'll be a brand new franchise, which means the lore, art, and game play are being developed entirely from scratch. It's an overwhelming process, but a process through which we excel. Our track record supports this.”
Blizzard Public Relations Manager Shon Damron was reached by phone but had no immediate comment.
