Blizzard recently held a number of press events at their Irvine HQ and with that comes a flood of new information, screen shots, unit renders, videos and more. I unfortunately was unable to attend but there's a wealth of information out there about the event and with beta just around the corner, the best stuff is yet to come!

This post will serve as your one stop shop for all videos and screen shots. I'll save any interviews or Q&A's I find for other posts. Hit the jump as well as the gallery to check out the eye candy.

New screens for Blizzard's June press event (15 images)

Among Blizzard's many very clever April Fools jokes yesterday came one for StarCraft 2 which is downright awesome. The Terra-Tron is a massive walker type seige unit constructed out of all of the Terran base buildings much like a Transfomer.

In fact, Blizzard had some more fun with it by giving it hilarious one-liners out of various famous movies including Transformers.

Some of my favorites:

  • "Hell, it's morphing time"  clearly combining the Power Rangers and StarCraft 2
  • "All your bases belong to us"  refrencing G.I. Joe
  • "We are more than meets the eye" obviously Transformers
  • "Terra-Tron terrorize!" lmao Blizzard loves Transfomers
  • "Disassemble? Noooo disassemble" I think this one is from Independence Day

There's 2 more I didn't list because I couldn't figure them out but if you click on the speech bubble flash button and figure out where they're from let me know.

Check out the videos of it in action as well as all the "lore" behind it after the jump. I seriously look forward to seeing what the modders come up with using this unit in the map editor!

Yesterday, fans finally got to see first hand some of the new changes to the artwork and tweaks to units that Dustin Browder has been claiming is holding up the progress of the next Battle Report.  Fortunately, Karune has said they have begun playing games with the latest build and will select one and from there the process is relatively quick.

Above you see some new Infestor concept art. These suckers can turn the tide of a battle if a player isn't on their toes, trust me. The dev team is always making changes and tweaking units for balancing purposes. The game is creeping toward a beta -- pun intended -- and below are some of the new weapons and abilities that are currently being tested on the battlefield.

Blizzard revealed an art overhaul to the Zerg on Feb. 19, 2009.

There is a pretty awesome Web site called Food For Thought Comics www.fftcomics.com that posts weekly StarCraft 2 comic strips. This one I found particularly funny. It's very long so I'm not posting it on the front of BlogFaction, you'll have to hit the jump to see it.

Enjoy!

Blizzard has dished out 3 new screenshots and a brand new wallpaper of the Queen of Blades, Kerrigan, just in time for Christmas.

Check out the screenshots after the jump and have a very Merry Christmas, and since I'm on vacation through next week, have a happy New Year! See ya in 2009!

StarCraft2.com released 3 new screenshots and 3 new pieces of artwork. Click them for a hi-res version.

Luin from GosuGamers has put 2 new videos on the interwebs that showcase the Protoss. I have embedded the standard quality ones here for quick viewing but if you really wanna see the action up close you should check out the 720P high definition ones by click the appropriate link below the video. The first video focuses on the use of Immortals while the second shows more micro use of the Stalker's blink ability. Enjoy!

Watch the second video after the jump...

Not much to report today, all is quite on the SC front, but I did find this awesome fan-created video the other day that is fun to watch.

I still have to load up and edit the extended video from my developer interview at Blizzcon but I should have that for you all sometime next week hopefully. Until then, happy Thanksgiving and enjoy the holiday weekend!

We haven't heard much about StarCraft 2 in a Blizzcast in a while, but this time around StarCraft 2 gets a good 12 minutes dedicated to the give and take process between the artists and game designers. Samwise Didier an Dustin Browder talk about everything from the Thor to Voltron, to a two-headed fire breathing flying Ultralisk.

Check out a new screenshot released by Blizzard as well as listen to the Blizzcast after the jump.

This is a rather lengthy but interesting press conference with Samwise Didier and Chris Sigaty from Blizzcon '08. It's in four parts so the others are after the jump. The green blur goes away in the first 5 seconds.

The other three parts of the press conference are after the jump. Enjoy!
